Childhood Eczema — Complete Clearance
Severe atopic eczema completely resolved in a 6-year-old within 5 months, steroid-free.
Before & After
The Full Story
The child had suffered from atopic eczema since infancy. By age 6, the eczema was severe — covering the antecubital and popliteal folds, neck, and face with weeping, crusting, and intense itching that disrupted sleep nightly. The child had been on intermittent topical steroids since age 2, creating a suppression cycle where withdrawal caused immediate flare.
Case-taking with the mother and observation of the child revealed an extremely sensitive, gentle, artistic child who wept easily, desired company, and was worse in warm rooms. Pulsatilla was the clear constitutional remedy. Treatment required careful management of the steroid withdrawal — an initial flare in week 3 was explained to the parents and managed with supportive remedies.
By month 2, the weeping stopped. By month 4, new skin was forming over previously affected areas. By month 5, the child was completely clear and sleeping soundly. Follow-up at 12 months showed no recurrence.
Remedies Used
- Pulsatilla 200C
- Graphites 30C (weeping phase)
